Recovering The STARS Dog...
Shy, Timid, Aloof, Reserved or Skittish This is the classic behaviour profile experienced
by dogs that:
- have been adopted from shelters
or rescues
- have been found stray
- is a puppy mill survivor
- is genetically predisposed from birth
- and the most likely... the situation is a combination of two or more of the above characteristics.
Dogs with this tendency may have escaped and then end up on the roam... consciously
avoiding detection and interface with humans. Regardless the escape event or situation, when a Shy, Timid, Aloof, Reserved, or Skittish (STARS) dog escapes
or goes missing, immediate and decisive action needs to be implemented to recover the frightened dog who is now facing
the world alone. The grand majority of my cases are for dogs with this behaviour profile. With the proper techniques
and consistent effort, homecomings are regularly celebrated.
If
your dog meets the above personality profile or background... please take immediate action to insure your STARS dog's recovery.

When pursuing your recovery efforts, remember to stay
focused, realistic and follow your plan. Above
all... be careful you do not run off on unlikely tangents.
|

Example case: "My timid dachshund
dug under the fence. I don't have any sightings but he loves food so he probably ran down to the McDonald's on the corner
and when he got there someone picked him up in a car because he is gorgeous."

|
Most probable: STARS (Shy or Timid or Aloof or Reserved
or Skittish) dogs do not generally allow strangers to approach and although the dog may love food, when a
dog first escapes he is not focused on food. It is likely this dog is roaming. There are no sightings because the dog is outside
the pet owners primary focused search area.
